CMO officials call for expediting Sita Rama Lift Irrigation Project works
Kothagudem: The senior officials of Chief Ministers' Office (CMO) have directed the irrigation officials in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district to expedite Sita Rama Lift Irrigation Project (SRLIP) works.
A team of CMO officials comprising Principal Secretary to Chief Minister S Narsing Rao, Secretary to CM Smita Sabharwal, Special Secretary to Chief Minister K Bhoopal Reddy, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Telangana Harita Haram Priyanka Varghese inspected the SRLIP sites in the district on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Narsing Rao told the project officials that by the end of July or August the project has to be connected to Nagarjunasagar canal. For that, the construction works have to be finished as per the schedule.
He said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was eager to supply water to farmers in Kothagudem, Khammam and Mahbubnagar districts. In the second phase, six pumps with capacity of 40 MW would be installed and the installation works were going on at good speed.
If administrative issues delayed works, they should be rescheduled for the next day, he suggested. Smita Sabharwal suggested the contractor to employ extra workforce and machinery to speed up the works and complete them as per the schedule. She expressed dissatisfaction over the delay in stage-3 works at Kamalapuram.
District Collector Rajat Kumar Saini, Irrigation OSD Deshpande, CE Sudhakar Rao, SE Nageshwar Rao, irrigation EE Venkateshwara Reddy and others were present.
