CMO Secretary furious over the delay of surge-pool works in Sircilla
Sircilla: Complete pending works under Kaleshwaram Project as early as possible since the surge-pool works under Package 10 are about to be completed, ordered Secretary of the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) Smitha Sabharwal. She inspected the construction works of the Kaleshwaram project under package 10 in Sircilla on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Smitha Sabharwal expressed ire on the contractors after observing that the works are going on at a snail's pace. She said that due to delay in works, it would not be possible to lift the water from surge-pool, which would be released from Mid Manair Dam (MMD) to the Ananthagiri project.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is determined to supply water for irrigation purposes and transform the barren lands into fertile through the Kaleshwaram project, she stated. The contractors and the officials explained to the CMO Secretary that the works were delayed due to heavy rainfall in the recent past. As the rains are stopped now, they assured of speeding up the works and will complete as early as possible.
Later, the Secretary of CMO inspected motor pump sets and construction works of gates. District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar, Project ENC Hari Ram, Superintending Engineer Anand and contractors were present along with others.
