Collector calls for eradication of TB
Khammam: "Everyone should learn how to prevent Tuberculosis and should be able to recognise its symptoms at an early stage," said District Collector RV Karnan at a meeting organised in Senior Citizen Day Care Centre in Khammam on Wednesday.
"By educating everyone about how the disease spreads and how it can be completely eradicated by following a treatment regimen for few months, we can completely eradicate TB from the country. Tuberculosis attacks immune deficient people like those suffering from AIDS and can spread to healthy people and lay dormant for years. To prevent the spread of TB, in the district, we have supplied diagnostic kits to all the primary health centres and district hospital. With the help of World Health Organisation, we are providing medicines free of cost to every TB patient in the country," he added.
