Collector takes to radio in Warangal
Warangal: In a bid to sensitise people about the Jal Shakti Abhiyan, a Central government's campaign aimed at accelerating water harvesting, conservation and other activities to mitigate water scarcity, Warangal Rural District Collector M Haritha is set to speak to people on Akashvani 103.5 FM on Wednesday (July 24) evening at 5.
According to District Public Relations Officer Bandi Pallavi, the Collector detailed about the importance of Jal Shakti Abhiyan during an interview with the Akashvani. This apart, the Collector will also speak about the role of administration and people to make the campaign a huge success.
It may be mentioned here that Rural district administration, which launched Jal Shakti campaign on July 1, is to carry it till September 15.
As part of the campaign, the administration has lined up several proactive programmes focusing on water conservation and rainwater harvesting, renovation of traditional and other water bodies, reuse of water and recharging of structures, watershed development, and intensive afforestation in six mandals - Geesukonda, Sangem, Nallabelly, Duggondi, Wardhannapet and Raiparthy - of Rural district that are currently witnessing drought-like situation.
The aim is to bring positive change in people for water conservation. The pre-recorded interview would be broadcasted at 5 pm on Wednesday.
