Hanamkonda: Collectors meet in Warangal
Hanamkonda: The City is abuzz with Collectors of almost all the districts in Telangana descending on it for a two-day sojourn during which they attended a workshop on Tuesday and to make a trip down to Godavari river valley to have a glimpse of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, the Collectors gathered at Haritha Kakatiya Hotel, where they debated on issues pertaining to revenue department. Special Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, who chaired the meeting, wanted the Collectors to air their views on various aspects – effective delivery of citizen services, transparency in governance etc, which would be taken to the notice of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. The meeting dwelt at length about the new revenue legislation and other initiatives the State government was contemplating to roll out, it's learnt.
"Focus should be on all round development of the State," Somesh Kumar told the Collectors.
Somesh Kumar said that the Chief Minister wants all the Collectors visit the KLIP constructed in a record time of three years, which is nothing less than a wonder. "KLIP is a modern miracle that aimed drenching the parched fields of Telangana," he said.
Earlier, Warangal Urban District Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil welcomed the Collectors from 30 districts. Collectors of Mahbubnagar, Peddapally and Siddipet districts were absent, it's learnt.
