College bus driver crushed to death in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a bus driver of a private college crushed to death by a water tanker in Vasanth Nagar under the KPHB police station limits on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as Syed Qasim (29).

According to the police, Qasim lost control over the two-wheeler and came under the rear wheels of the water tanker while he tried to overtake the truck from the left side. The accident took place when he was heading to the residence of private college owner in Vasanth Nagar.

Police said that the tanker driver identified as Niranjan from Nagarkurnool district was on his way to supply water to a private college in Kukatpally. Soon after the accident, the driver fled from the spot.

For hours, the body of Qasim could not be removed as the body was lying under the wheels. Later, Qasim's body has been shifted to the Gandhi Hospital for post-mortem. The Cyberabad traffic police registered a case. After launching a hunt, police traced Niranjan.
