Community toilet inaugurated in Odela
Odela: Mandal Praja Parishad (MPP) President Kunarapu Renuka Devi urged the people to use either Individual Sanitary Latrines or community toilets and not to defecate in the open as it would lead to spread of many contagious diseases.
The MPP on Wednesday inaugurated a community toilet constructed under Swachh Bharat Mission in Haripuram village of Odela mandal of Peddapalli district. Speaking on the occasion, the MPP said that it is the responsibility of the people to maintain the surroundings clean and tidy.
With the initiation taken by MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy, Swachh Bharat introduced by the Central government and Haritha Haram introduced by the State government are being implemented successfully in the district.
By planting saplings and protecting them until they grow into trees, we can get plenty of rainfall and also can get pure air, as more trees will clear pollution. Along with the mandal administration, public representatives, representative of voluntary organisations and people also must participate actively in such programmes and must coordinate with the government for making the programmes successful in the district, she added.
Later, MPP K Renuka Devi planted saplings in Haripuram village. Village Sarpanch G Madhu, MPDO Sattaiah, RWS officer Sravanthi, vice-MPP P Kumar, GP secretary Srinivas, EGS APO Komaraiah, Deputy Sarpanch G Nagaraju, ward members Padma, M Sailu, G Sadaiah, P Gattaiah, M Ellamma, K Mahendar Reddy and M Srikanth were present along with others.
