Commuters irked over bad roads

Vikarabad: The bad condition of the road from Tharur to Nagasamunder is testing the patience of commuters. People are suffering the stretch at Kotpally culvert. This part of the road was washed away there years ago due to floods. Officials made temporary repairs and left it like that.

The culvert did not wash away this time because no heavy rains were reported in this area. Otherwise, this would have been washed away and 10 villages would be cut from other part of the world, people remarked.

But, small showers are making this road muddy, wet and slush due to which the vehicles are getting stuck in this part. When a vehicle gets stuck, it takes hours to come out of it. Unexpected traffic jams are irking the commuters.

Locals allege that the issue has been taken to the notice of officials, leaders at mandal level and also to Vikarabad MLA Dr M Anand, but nothing has happened. They said they would launch massive agitation if the issue was not addressed.
