Jagtial: District Collector Dr A Sharath directed the officials concerned to complete the works of Mission Bhagiratha project by May 10 so as to supply water to all the households in villages through taps, at a meeting at his chamber in the Collectorate here on Tuesday.

Speaking at the meeting, the Collector said that the State government's prestigious project Mission Bhagiratha is aimed at supplying pure and safe drinking water to every household present across the State. But the works of the project like laying of pipelines, construction of water tanks etc are still pending at some places.

The officials told to take confirmation letters from the sarpanch, ward members and village secretary after the completion of MB works in villages and submit the same to the higher officials.

Replying to the query of the Collector whether the water from the project is supplied through municipality or not, the officials answered that water is being supplied through old pipelines as the new ones are still under construction.

The Collector ordered them to write a letter regarding this issue and submit to the authorities concerned seeking time for laying new pipelines and told them to complete new pipeline laying works at the earliest.

MB executive engineer Srinivas, municipal commissioners Sampath, Jagadish Goud and Ayaaz were present along with other officials.
