Complete RFCL renovation works by Dec 15: Union Minister Sadananda Gowda
Peddapalli: Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers DV Sadananda Gowda on Thursday ordered the officials concerned to complete the construction works of the Fertiliser Company by December 15 this year. He inspected the renovation works of Ramagundam Fertiliser and Chemicals Limited (RFCL) Company at Ramagundam in Peddapalli district.
In a review meeting with the officials concerned, the Union Minister said as the part of 'Make In India' programme, the Central government took up renovation works of RFCL, which was closed, with an investment of Rs 6,120.55 crores with a target of producing about 2,200 metric tonnes of Ammonium and 3,850 metric tonnes of Urea.
He said 98 per cent of works were completed and the remaining works will be completed as early as possible with a deadline of December 15 this year without compromising in quality of works and standards. The RFCL renovation works have been taken up with an aim of producing 1.27 million metric tonnes of fertlisers to fulfil the requirement of farmers of Telangana and neighbouring States.
Initially, the production works will start at a lower level and will gain momentum as the works picks up. About 2,000 people will get either direct or indirect employment opportunities with the establishment of RFCL, Union Minister Sadananda Gowda informed.
Meanwhile, Peddapalli MP Borlakunta Venkatesh Netha and Ramagundam MLA Korakanti Chander Patel requested Union Minister DV Sadananda Gowda to give opportunity for locals while recruiting workers for the RFCL.
District Collector Devasena, CEO Nirlap Singh, Chief Engineer Rajan Tappar, DGM, Chief Managers (Finance) AK Sharma and Senior Manager Production Raghupal Reddy were present along with other officials concerned.
