Cong workers clash over appointment of Jadcherla party in-charge

Mahbubnagar: The long-brewing internal conflict in Congress party in Jadcherla constituency was exposed at the party workers meeting held here in Jadcherla on Tuesday. With the State Congress leadership appointing Anirudh Reddy as in-charge of Jadcherla constituency, some of the Congress party workers led by State BC Cell president Balavardhan Goud created ruckus at the meeting and tried to hit each other with chairs.

The BC Cell president allegedly opposed the appointment of Anirudh Reddy and levelled allegation that Reddy had earlier supported Telangana Rashtra Samithi candidate during the recent Assembly elections and was not eligible to be appointed as Congress in-charge of Jadcherla.

"Those who had deceived the Congress are being once again appointed as party in-charge. We have no confidence in him and want the party to appoint someone who is more capable," said a candidate opposing Anirudh Reddy's appointment.

Some party workers also alleged that Anirudh Reddy is DK Aruna's follower and he might not be effective in helping the party MP candidate win the parliamentary elections in Mahbubnagar.

As DK Aruna already in the saffron league and contesting the Mahbubnagar parliamentary constituency on the BJP ticket, the local Congress party cadres fear that Anirudh Reddy's presence might adversely impact the Congress party in the ensuring elections.

Overall, the political analysts feel that the internal bickering should stop as they would send wrong signals to the people in the district just before the Parliament polls.
