Congress asks BJP to mount pressure on Centre to resolve RTC staff stir issues
Hyderabad: Coming down heavily on the Bharatiya Janata Party for its negligent attitude towards the RTC workers' strike, PCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar on Friday demanded it to bring pressure on the Centre to solve the issues of the RTC staff.
Addressing the media, along with spokesperson A Dayakar, he said that though the strike was going on for the past 48 days, MPs of that party have been speaking about the strike now.
He said that Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that he would take up the issue of the strike after a week. But no one knows what would be the fate of the strike by that time.
Prabhakar said that as the Centre has 30 per cent share in the TSRTC it should respond to the strike. He alleged that the BJP MPs from the State have been just doing a lip service in helping the RTC workers.
He wondered why the Union Minister was unable to speak to Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao, while State ministers were able to meet Union Ministers like Amit Shah at the throw of a hat.
Describing the TRS and BJP fight in the state like World Wrestling Fight, he said that these parties fight in the gullies of Hyderabad and make friendship at Delhi.
He wanted to know why the Centre did not order an inquiry into the corrupt activities of the TRS government.
