Congress blames government for farmers suicides in Telangana
Hyderabad: Congress Kisan Cell national vice chairman M Kodanda Reddy on Sunday alleged that farmers are committing suicides because of the corruption in the Revenue department.
In a statement, he said that a farmer Anthaiah of Chevella committed suicide on June 17 due to the corrupt officials. Another farmer of Peddapalli district, Raji Reddy, also committed suicide on June 20. He said that injustice is meted out to the farmers for two years ever since the government took up cleansing of revenue records.
He made it clear that the government was responsible for these suicides and demanded that inquiry should be initiated into them. He wanted the government to issue a White Paper on the issues of Revenue department.
