Hyderabad: With just 10 days left to end of the campaign for Lok Sabha elections, the Congress candidates have been intensifying their efforts to win.

Senior leaders, who are in the fray and whose future is at stake, are straining every nerve to attract voters. They have been going round the constituency and holding meetings.

The contestants are braving the blazing sun to reach out to the voters. The district-level and Assembly-level leaders too are enthusiastically participating in the campaign.

Congress candidates N Uttam Kumar Reddy from Nalgonda, A Revanth Reddy from Malkajgiri, K Visweshwar Reddy from Chevella, K Venkat Reddy from Bhongir, Renuka Chowdary from Khammam, P Prabhakar from Karimnagar and Madhu Yaski from Nizamabad are making every effort to score a victory.

The leaders have been holding public meetings and meeting the voters. The Congress leaders are determined to retrieve the lost ground in the State. The severe drubbing the party suffered in the Assembly elections seemed to have pained them.

Party leaders felt that the Congress would occupy centre stage once again in the State only if it can win between six and eight seats. If the party can win just one or two seats, the party cadre would lose confidence in the party, they said.

The Congress party has witnessed exodus from its rank after it suffered drubbing in the Assembly elections. Senior leaders like D K Aruna and Sunitha Laxma Reddy too deserted the party.
