Hyderabad: Congress spokesperson Dasoju Sravan demanded Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, who would be traveling to Delhi on Friday, to stage a protest in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence in Delhi if he was really concerned about farmer issues.

Stating that KCR's letter supporting Modi on the Central Vista project was yet another example of TRS-BJP collusion, Sravan said, "They fight on the streets of Hyderabad, but they are friends in Delhi."

Addressing the media in Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, he asked the ruling TRS to immediately enact the farmer-friendly legislation in the Assembly to prove its sincerity towards the agitating farmers. He suggested TRS to follow the Punjab government, which has shown the new way to the whole country by bringing three agriculture bills negating the controversial Central government's anti-farmer agriculture laws.

The Congress leader further asked KCR and his partymen to stop enacting dramas in the name of supporting farmers. He held that TRS party responsible for the agrarian crisis that took away the lives of more than 6,000 aggrieved farmers in the State. "Rather than indulging in road-side dramas, the CM must call for a special Assembly session and bring in exclusive State laws to protect farmers and negate anti-farmer laws of India on the lines of Punjab government," the Congress leader suggested.
