Congress decries sad state of govt hospitals
Hyderabad: Congress members expressed concern over shortage of doctors and infrastructure in state hospitals and also on the increased viral fever and dengue cases across the state.
CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka and MLA Seethakka have stated that state hospitals in various districts are being flooded with patients and there are not enough beds to accommodate them. In some places, three or four persons are being treated on single bed, they said.
The Congress members further said that several hospitals in the state including Hyderabad had shortage of doctors and other medical staff and this was affecting treatments.
Now, with heavy rush of patients, this shortcoming is exposed, the MLA said. Seethakka wanted the Health Minister Eatala Rajender to inform the House when the vacancies would be filled.
Replying to them, Rajender said that government is taking steps to fill vacancies through Recruitment Board and also appointing contract doctors and staff in districts to meet the requirement.
He appealed to opposition parties not to create fear psychosis among people about viral fevers.
