Vikarabad: The district wing of Congress party staged a protest in front of Tahsildar's offices across the district on Monday. They demanded the State government to address the issues of the farming community immediately and issue pattadar passbooks, which were still pending. Congress leaders submitted a memorandum to District Collector Ayesha Masrat Khanam to take the issues to the notice of the State government.

The party leaders criticised the state government for neglecting the district without taking up any development projects. "The Pranahita and Chevella project was shelved. Tenders for the Kondurg-Parigi reservoir are yet to be called. The farming community has been suffering due to the scanty rainfall. The assurances given during elections like loan waiver up to Rs one lakh, three acres of land for Dalits, etc, have been neglected," they alleged.

District Congress Party President Rammohan Reddy, former MP Vishwashwar Reddy, former minister Prasad Kumar, Sudhakar Reddy, Ratna Reddy and Kishan Naik were present on the occasion.
