Congress Kisan cell sees scam worth Rs 300 crores in Markfed

Hyderabad: Kisan Congress national vice chairman M Kodanda Reddy on Saturday alleged that a scam worth Rs 300 crore has taken place in the Mark Fed and demanded an enquiry.

Addressing the media, along with chairman of Telangana Kisan Congress Anvesh Reddy, he said that as much as 4.61 lakh metric tonnes of maize was given to the leaders of ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

Through this, the TRS leaders benefited up to Rs 300 crore. He alleged that the government has been protecting the interests of the businessmen than the farmers.

He alleged that the purchase of maize was done through the Mark Fed through an underhand deal. He said that when the farmers have questioned this the officials have been escaping from giving answers.

Anvesh Reddy said that the government has given the maize purchased from the farmers to the businessmen at a low cost.
