Congress mulls on its stand on Liberation Day
Hyderabad: The Congress is mulling on the stand to be taken on the Telangana Liberation Day to be celebrated on September 17 to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party in the state.
According to party sources, the issue has come for discussion during a meeting of PCC leaders on the arrangements to be made to celebrate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi last week.
The sources said that the party is yet to chalk out a strategy on neutralising the BJP effect with the help of Liberation Day. They said that the party would pose a question to Telangana Rashtra Samithi about its stand on the Liberation Day. They reminded that during the Telangana movement, TRS has demanded the erstwhile combined Andhra Pradesh governments for the official celebration of Liberation Day.
