Congress on verge of extinction in TS: Aruna
Hyderabad: Former Minister and senior Congress leader D K Aruna, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), said that the Congress is on the verge of extinction in Telangana State. Addressing the press, accompanied by BJP national General Secretary Muralidhar Rao in New Delhi on Wednesday, she said that the Congress is facing leadership crisis in Telangana.
Angered over not being allotted party ticket to contest from Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha constituency, Aruna joined BJP in the presence of the party President Amit Shah on Tuesday. The saffron party promised to allot a party ticket so she could fight the ensuing Lok Sabha election. Coming down heavily on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Aruna alleged that the TRS came to power for the second consecutive term by hoodwinking the people.
A bunch of Congress leaders colluded with the TRS and weakened the party deliberately for their personal gains. She said that the country will be safe only in the hands of BJP and Prime minister Narendra Modi. She will work hard for the victory of the party in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
