Congress plans to hold huge public meeting in competition to BRS meeting in Nalagonda
The Congress party is planning a large-scale meeting in Nalgonda in view of BRS party meeting. The Pradesh Election Committee (PEC) recently held a meeting to discuss the selection of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and to address various political issues. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized the importance of addressing the Kaleshwaram collapse issue.
Given the extensive list of party leaders aspiring for tickets, the party is focused on filtering and selecting candidates. The PEC, under the chairmanship of TPCC President and CM Revanth Reddy, discussed the list of candidates for various constituencies. The selected candidates will be forwarded to the Central Election Committee of the Congress Party. The party aims to maintain the momentum it gained in the assembly elections and win a significant number of Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. CM Revanth Reddy expressed optimism about winning 15 Lok Sabha seats.
However, with a large number of leaders seeking tickets, the candidate selection process has become challenging. As many as 309 leaders have applied to contest in the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies in Telangana. Minister Komatireddy Venkatareddy, a member of the PEC, clarified that tickets will only be given to candidates with a realistic chance of winning. The PEC also considered the names of those who did not apply for tickets. The Congress PEC has committed to working hard to win MP seats in the upcoming elections, aiming to secure more than 13 seats. In addition to candidate selection, the leaders also discussed various ongoing political issues.
