Congress protests Priyanka's arrest

Hyderabad: The Congress on Saturday protested the arrest of party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi in Uttar Pradesh on Friday and held demonstrations at Gandhi Bhavan.

Youth Congress leaders led by Telangana YC president Anil Kumar Yadav burnt the effigy of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Telangana Women Congress has also held demonstration under the leadership of Nerella Sarada.

All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary V Hanumantha Rao has criticised the UP government has been following undemocratic attitude. Addressing the media, he said arrest of Priyanka Gandhi was an example for the dictatorial ways of the UP government.

He made it clear that it was the right of the Congress to lodge protest against the death of 10 tribes in police firing.

He said protest by her despite police oppression was an example to the Congress workers.
