Congress readies battle gear for graft fight against TRS government
Hyderabad: With a view to keep the party ahead in the political race, the Telangana Congress has decided to corner the government on various issues particularly on corruption in various sectors of governance.
The party seniors have been entrusted with the responsibility of fighting the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi on corruption. The work has been divided among the seniors.
Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy said that at the Core Committee meeting of the PCC at Delhi recently, the responsibilities have been divided among the seniors. Party incharge general secretary RC Khuntia has entrusted the work to the seniors.
He informed that he would take up the corruption in power sector and land allocations. PCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka would fight on the corruption and issues in the Irrigation sector.
Senior leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy has been told to take up the cases being filed against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in the past. They include case on Chandrashekar Rao in Sahara PF scam, ESI hospitals scam and others.
The MP said that he would have a team to find out the details of the corruption in the power sector. The other teams to be headed by Uttam and Shashidhar would also work in the same way.
Congress leaders said that the party is required to be aggressive in its fight against the ruling TRS in the changed political circumstances. They said that efforts of the Bharatiya Janata Party to emerge as big political force in the state have forced the Congress to reprioritize its activities.
They said that the BJP has been helping the TRS by enacting drama of political rivalry with TRS. It wants to keep the Congress out of the political scene of the state. This would eventually help the TRS in the days to come.
The Congress leaders like T Jeevan Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, Uttam Kumar Reddy and others have been questioning the sincerity of the BJP in exposing Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in corruption.
Party leaders said that all the allegations being made by the BJP were already highlighted by the Congress. Corruption in Kaleswaram, Mission Bhagiratha and in power utilities were made by the Congress for the last three years.
