Congress to forfeit its deposit: TRS

Hanamkonda: Congress is sure to forfeit its deposit in the election to Warangal Council seat under Local Bodies Constituency, predicted Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao. Speaking to the media in Hanamkonda on Tuesday after Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidate Pochampally Srinivas Reddy had filed his nomination papers for the Council seat; the Minister said that Congress is under pressure to face the elections.

"Congress is panic-stricken seeing the kind of patronage the TRS is able to command from the people. Fearing defeat, the Congress had tried to evade every election by moving the courts," Rao alleged.Due to persistent attempts at litigation by the Congress, the government is facing hiccups to carry developmental activity in the State, he said.

Stating that Pochampally had intensely worked in Telangana Movement, he appealed to voters of the Warangal Local Bodies Constituency to elect Pochampally Srinivas Reddy so that to cooperate the endeavours of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao in his bid to turn the State into golden Telangana.

Earlier, Pochampally Srinivas Reddy offered prayers in Bhadrakali temple before filing nomination papers, en route he garlanded the statues of Telangana ideologue Prof Jayashankar and eminent poet Kaloji Narayan Rao. He was accompanied by MPs Banda Prakash, Pasunuri Dayakar, legislators Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, Aroori Ramesh and Challa Dharma Reddy were among others present.
