Senior leaders of the party K Jana Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and others have held a meeting in Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday and discussed the repressive attitude of the government.
They said that the police have been arresting the Congress leaders time and again not allowing them to participate in any protest programme.
The leaders were not allowed even to stay at their homes in the nights whenever a programme is taken up. They decided to meet again on Sunday to discuss the issue and finalise a strategy to bring pressure on the government from adopting repressive attitude.
Speaking in the meeting Bhatti Vikramarka said that the police have been placing Congress leaders under house arrest for every small protest programme. Leaders in the villages have been taken to the police stations.
Bhatti Vikramarka said that similar repression has been unleashed on RTC workers 'Chalo Tank Bund' programme. He demanded the government to provide treatment to the workers of the RTC who were injured.
