Congress will clean sweep in municipal elections: DCC president Maheshwar Reddy

Nirmal: District Congress Committee (DCC) president Maheshwar Reddy expressed confidence that their party will clean sweep 35 municipal wards out of the 42 wards in Nirmal in the coming municipal elections.

Speaking at a press meet at his residence in Nirmal town on Wednesday, he alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has failed to fulfil his poll promises after coming to power.

The CM had promised Rs 3,000 to unemployed youth, old age pension to people aged above 58 years, double bedroom houses to the poor and household tap connections in urban areas, but didn't implemented at least one of these promises, he pointed out.

Former Municipal Chairman Appala Ganesh Chakravarthy, State PC secretary Ramalingam, SC Cell State vice-president Siddamuthyam, DCC vice-president Chinnu, spokesperson Junaid, counsellors Aruna, Bhupathi Reddy, Patarla Ganesh, Appala Vamshi, Ravi, Raghu veer and others were present.
