Constable killed as two bikes collide in Suryapet

Suryapet: A duty constable, who was injured in a road accident, died while being shifted to Hyderabad on Sunday late night. The deceased constable was identified as Sudhakar Goud (32) posted at Suryapet town police station.

According to sources, as part of watch duty, Sudhakar came to the police station at 7 pm and decided to have tea near new bus stand after a reliever came to the station at 2 am. When he reached Reliance Trends showroom, a youth, who was triple riding a Royal Enfield vehicle in an inebriated condition, hit Sudhakar's bike.

In this incident, Sudhakar suffered serious head injuries and was shifted to local area hospital in Suryapet for treatment. After the first aid, on doctors' advice, he was shifted to Kamineni Hospital in Hyderabad. However, after examination, the doctors at Kamineni Hospital declared him brought dead.

He is survived by wife, a son and a daughter. Based on the complaint of deceased constable's wife, Radhika, the police registered a case and took up the investigation.

On Monday morning, SP Venkateshwarlu, CI Shiva Shankar, ZP vice-chairman Venkatnarayana Goud and local politicians paid tributes to Sudhakar at his residence. The SP on the occasion assured the bereaved family members of providing all help from the government and provided Rs 25,000 aid as immediate relief.
