Constitution protects every citizen: Collector Ram Mohan Rao

Nizamabad: Constitution protects every citizen by providing constitutional rights as well as the duties and responsibilities to the people," said Nizamabad district Collector M Ram Mohan Rao at an event organized on the occasion of the Constitution Day in the city on Tuesday. The preamble of the Constitution was read and a pledge was administered by the collector and officials on the occasion.

Addressing on the occasion, the Collector said that the year-long celebration of the 125th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Ambedkar has begun. The Government of India has decided to celebrate the Constitution Day throughout the year in honour of the constitutional makers. The celebrations will be held till 2020 Ambedkar Jayanti, the Collector said. "We have the biggest constitution in the world, said the Collector.

Baba Saheb Ambedkar, the chairman of Constitutional Draft Committee, had taken good notes from France, the US, the UK and many other countries, and wrote them into the Constitution of India. The Collector said that he had written a constitution which was accepted by all for many years. Ram Mohan Rao said that the 70th anniversary of the Constitution should be celebrated on the 26th of November every year by the officials and the people.

The Collector said that all fundamental rights, values and responsibilities given in the Constitution should be remembered. District Joint Collector Venkateshwarlu DRO Anjaya, district officers, staff and others participated in the programme.
