Cops crack septuagenarian's murder case in Nalgonda

Nakrekal (Nalgonda): The Ketepally police cracked the murder case of elderly woman, Syed Asha Bee (74), that took place at Korlapahad village of Ketepally mandal in the district on June 30, and arrested the accused Srinu, Anthamma and her sister Dhanalakshmi.

On Friday, Nakrekal Rural SI Kastro Reddy producing the arrested before media at circle office in Nakrekal stated that business rivalry led to Asha Bee's murder. Both Asha Bee and Anthamma were neighbours and have been running belt shops (liquor) for their livelihood for many years.

In order to make her business flourish, Anthamma decided to terminate Asha Bee and in this connection, she took the help of Chintala Srinu and assured to waive his due Rs 5,000 in return.

Implementing their plan, on June 30 at about 2 am, Anthamma and her sister Dhanalakshmi along with Srinu went to Asha Bee's house and knocked the door. When Asha Bee opened the door, Srinu attacked her with an axe, while Anthamma slit Asha Bee's throat with a knife.

Ketepally police took up the case and investigated. They arrested the accused Srinu, Anthamma and her sister Dhanalakshmi on Friday and pulled the curtains over the case.
