Cops nab 3 thieves including a minor in Warangal

Warangal: The police arrested two thieves and a chain snatcher in two separate incidents, and seized jewellery worth around Rs 8.75 lakh from them. In a press conference here on Tuesday, Commissioner of Police V Ravinder revealed the details of the accused.

The accused were identified as Toorpati Prasad, a native of Penuballi mandal in Khammam district residing in Kambalapally village in Mahabubabad district, and Kalti Raju of Rajalingala village under Enkoor mandal in Khammam district. Prasad was habituated to bad habits and started looting locked houses in 2012. He was involved in 23 thefts in erstwhile Warangal and Khammam districts. During his sentence in Khammam jail, he befriended with Raju. Since then, the duo was involved in eight thefts.

In a separate incident, the CCS Police arrested a minor auto-rickshaw driver, who was involved in chain snatching, and seized booty worth around Rs 1.50 lakh from him. The minor picked up two passengers to drop them at Mucharla Nagaram village from Kakatiya University Cross road and ran away after snatching a gold chain from the elderly woman, Ganta Jaya.

The CCS and Hasanparthy police arrested the minor based on CCTV footage.The Commissioner commended ACP Jithender, CCS Inspetcor and Sub-inspector Ramesh Kumar, Sanjeev Reddy, Hasanparthy Inspector Tirumal, ASI Shivkumar and other staff, who solved the case.
