Cops seize 130 kg ganja; 6 arrested
Hyderabad: LB Nagar Police special operations team along with Vanasthalipuram police on Tuesday nabbed six drug peddlers at Autonagar and seized 130 kg ganja, along with two cars, net cash Rs 12,000 and six mobile phones all worth Rs 31.62 lakh from the possession of the accused.
The accused were identified as Banoth Sudhakar (23), Jarpula Hussain (23), Dharavath Chiranjeevi (29), Kambampati Nageshwar Rao (28), Banoth Venkanna (26) and Banoth Suresh Naidu (25). Police said efforts were on to nab the absconding accused Suresh of Vishakhapatnam.
According to Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat, accused Sudhakar and Hussain, natives of Suryapet district, were involved in illegal trade for the last few months and had contacts with ganja cultivators and sellers in Vizag.
The duo, along with their other associates were procuring the contraband from Vishakapatnam for Rs 2,000 a kg and selling it for Rs 7,000 a kg in Hyderabad and parts of Maharashtra.
Recently the gang purchased 130 kg ganja from Vizag and transported it to Hyderabad in two cars.
