Hyderabad: With Karimnagar getting into news following a group of people from Indonesia testing corona positive, the district went into a panic mode.

To create confidence among the people that all is well and that there is no need to panic and to get first-hand information, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will visit the district on Saturday.

The Chief Minister will hold a high-level meeting with the district and state officials of the Medical and Health Department, Collector, SP, and Municipal Commissioner and will review the arrangements made to prevent the spread of virus in Karimnagar.

Officials said that during the door to door survey conducted following the Indonesians testing positive, it was found that no local people were infected with the virus.

The district authorities also relaxed the restrictions that were imposed on business establishments and public transport following the detection of the movement of these Indonesians. The scare was so high that the authorities had imposed sort of curfew for two days in Karimnagar.

After the review meeting, officials said that KCR is likely to announce some preventive measures to contain the spread of virus.

As the High Court already directed the government to postpone the SSC examinations, the government is also likely to reschedule the college and university level exams.
