Corona Virus: Chief Secretary holds video conference with Dist Collectors
Hyderabad: Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar directed the District Collectors to be cautious and implement the instructions given by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to contain the spread of Corona Virus in the State. They should strictly adhere to instructions given in G.O.Ms.No.4 Dt.14.03.2020, he said.
The Chief Secretary on Monday held a Video Conference on preparedness of controlling Corona Virus, with District Collectors from BRKR Bhavan.
Somesh Kumar directed district Collectors to form interdisciplinary team to monitor those who came from foreign travel. Quarantine is mandatory to all those who made foreign visit from the seven countries namely China, South Korea, Iran, Italy, Spain, Germany and France and it shall be strictly adhered to. The person and his contacts are to be tracked constantly as part of containment plan. He directed to deal the situation in a highly professional manner. He asked collectors to tackle situation carefully so that general public don't become panic.
The Chief Secretary also directed to see that all Educational Institutions including coaching centers shall be closed with immediate effect until 31-03-2020. Board exams should be conducted as per schedule.
The Collectors have been asked to ensure that no mass –gatherings, meetings, programmes, in the district. Stringent action will be taken on those who spread fake news on virus. They have been permitted to continue NREGS works. He urged the Collectors to create awareness among public on personal hygiene and advised to stay away from those who are suffering with fever and influenza.
The Chief Secretary has instructed district collectors to ensure cleanliness and sanitation in public and private transport. He said that maximum number of positive cases were reported in Maharashtra, the concerned border district collectors shall be more alert and take necessary steps.
Special Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
