Coronavirus tests at Hyderabad's Gandhi

Huzurabad: Tests for coronavirus on the people of both Telugu speaking States - Andhra Pradesh and Telangana – will be conducted in Hyderabad only, Health Minister Eatala Rajendar informed at a press meet at MLA camp office in Huzurabad on Wednesday.

The Minister affirmed that there are no cases of coronavirus in the State. The samples of 25 people, out of the 52 persons, who came from China and who may have the virus, were sent to Pune for testing. 21 samples of the total 25 that were sent to Pune are negative for coronavirus and the results of the remaining four samples are yet to be received, he explained.

But all necessary arrangements were made in Hyderabad for conducting coronavirus tests and the tests for the remaining people will be conducted at Gandhi hospital. There are special kits and experts to conduct the tests at Gandhi Hospital, he informed.

The Health Minister assured the people that there is no need to get panic as there is no coronavirus in the State. Symptoms of this virus will be the same as that of swine flu and viral fevers when attacked, running nose, severe cough etc. If any person shows these symptoms, then they should visit nearby hospital immediately, Rajendar suggested. Under the leadership of Dr Vijay Kumar, a team was appointed, who will work 24 hours and a call centre also has been established for the purpose, he added.

Minister Rajendar said that those, who are coming from other countries, can dial the call centre number. Then a medical tema will collect their samples and conduct test. There is no scope of spread of coronavirus in Telangana region, even then the Telangana government is taking all precautionary steps, he stressed.

Speaking about PACS elections, Health Minister E Rajendar said whatever the elections may be, winner will be the TRS only. In the coming cooperative elections also, the TRS is going to win all the chairman posts, he said with confidence.
