Coronavirus Vaccine dry run in Telangana: Dry run for the Covid-19 vaccine will be held in seven places in Telangana on Saturday to test the planning and implementation and fix any gaps in the system. This dry run will take place at four sites -- UPHC- Tilaknagar, Area Hospital- Nampally, Gandhi hospital as well as Yashoda hospital (private hospital) in Hyderabad district and another three in Mahbubnagar (PHC- Janampet, GGH- Mahbubnagar and Neha Shine hospital (private hospital).
Dry run is a sort of mock exercise as is done before the date of polling.
This includes accessing the Co-win software and checking the recipient's details and information, then health assessment by the medical officer and later administering the vaccine by nursing staff to finally make the recipient to relax for some time at the centre to check if there are any adverse effects. It may be mentioned here that Telangana is procuring 1.6 crore vaccine doses to administer it twice in a gap of 28 days to 80 lakh people, including frontline health staff, frontline staff from police, sanitation, panchayats as well as people above 50 years of age. Initially, the vaccine would be given to over 2.5 lakh frontline health staff working in government and private healthcare facilities in the state.
