Counter 'crooked politics' of TRS, BJP: Renuka to voters
Khammam: The Congress party has increased its pace of election campaign in the Khammam district with party candidate Renuka Chowdhury already completing campaigning in seven Assembly segments in the Khammam Parliament constituency. As part of the campaign, on Monday, she met people from various walks of life and urged them to vote for Congress.
She started campaigning at 8 am on Monday morning where a large number of Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi activists along with cadres of the Telugu Desam and the Congress participated in Renuka's road show held in the Three Town area of Khammam. In Khammam's Two Town VDO's Colony, veteran comedian Venu Madhav participated in the campaign along with Renuka Chowdhury. Later, she visited the Khammam agricultural market and met farmers and enquired about their issues.
Addressing the media later, Renuka fired salvos on the TRS and the BJP for their 'anti-democracy' policies and alleged that both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao were making wicked plans against the opposition parties. She alleged that Congress leaders and workers were subjected to harassment in the name of searches by police. She warned that Congress workers would not succumb to pressure from TRS government.
"If you want to kill me, I am ready. But don't indulge in crooked politics," she said, accusing the police of searching the houses of Congressmen when they were out of town or somewhere else.
Former Minister Sambhani Chandrasekhar, district presidents Puvvada Durga Prasad, Congress leaders AK Ramaraju, Manukonda Radhakishore, corporators Deepak Chowdhury, Thilak and others participated in the campaign.
