COVID-19: Etela Rajender visits Hyderabad airport to inspect screening facility
Health minister Etela Rajender on Monday visited Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) and inspected the special Thermo screening set up to screen the passengers coming from the foreign countries.
The Thermo screening was set up after the outbreak of coronavirus in China and other countries. Thousands of passengers coming from the foreign countries are being screened and those were suspected to have been infected by the virus are being sent to a state-run hospital.
The minister spoke to the RGIA and health care officials and enquired about the arrangements made at the airport.
So far, only one person has been tested positive for the virus in Hyderabad and is undergoing treatment at the isolation ward in Gandhi Hospital. The software engineer who works in a firm in Bengaluru has travel history from Dubai.
