Coronavirus cases skyrocket across Telangana
Coronavirus in Telangna: Telangana reported 945 new corona cases in the last 24 hours pushing the total tally to 16,339 so far. Also, a big number of people, 1,712 were discharged in a single day after they showed no symptoms of fever from the last three days and recovered from illness. They have been asked to stay in home isolation for the next two weeks.
Also, seven people died on Tuesday taking the total death count to 260. Among the fresh cases, GHMC reported - 869, Ranga Reddy - 29 and Sangareddy reported 21 cases.
The health department has observed that there is a lot of mobility and movement of people from all walks of life and of all age groups. Citizens are travelling across the State and most of them are not following the basic preventive measures like wearing a mask, maintaining safe physical distancing, cough etiquette and hand hygiene. Majority of people are undertaking non-essential travel which has to be avoided. There has been a surge in the cases since relaxation of lockdown, the department said in its bulletin. After a four days gap, special sample tests drive began once again in five districts including the State capital.
Meanwhile, two more family members of deputy Speaker T Padma Rao also tested positive. They are in home isolation with mild symptoms.
