Covid tally cross 4,000 mark with 191 new cases in Telangana State

Hyderabad: Telangana reported 191 new cases and eight deaths even as junior doctors of Gandhi Hospital launched a protest in the last 24 hours. With the surge of cases, the overall Covid count went past the 4,000 mark.

As usual GHMC registered the highest (143 cases) among the fresh cases. Medchal and Sangareddy reported another 11 each.

Two doctors from Chest Hospital were among those who tested positive in the last 24 hours.

A Central team led by senior IAS officer Sanjay Jaju which flew here to take stock of corona situation in GHMC limits, visited a containment zone in Jiyaguda and also inspected quarantine facilities at Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital. There were speculations that a separate ward was opened for infected journalists in Gandhi Hospital but hospital authorities did not confirm it.
