Mancherial: As part of security arrangements ahead of second phase of ZPTC and MPTC elections, Ramagundam Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana inspected Maoist affected areas in Kotapalli mandal in Mancherial district on Wednesday. The campaigning for second phase elections concluded on Wednesday.

He visited Maoist affected Pranahita River basin areas, villages and ferry points and interacted with fishermen of Pranahita River and country boat operators. He enquired them about Maoist movement and asked them to inform the police if they found anyone suspicious.

Meanwhile, Commissioner deployed two grey hound parties, six special parties, 20 counter action parties and intensified combing operation. He said that Maoists cannot escape from our hands and arrangements were made for the public to exercise their vote in a peaceful atmosphere.

Jaipur Assistant Commissioner of Police Venkat Reddy, Chennur Inspector Pramod, Chennur Rural CI Jagdish, Kotapalli Sub-Inspector Ramesh, special party police and others were present.
