CPI demands Jagadish's resignation for Intermediate results goof-up in Mahbubnagar

Mahbubnagar: The leaders of Communist Party of India (CPI) from Mahbubnagar have demanded the resignation of Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy for his inefficiency and failure to oversee the evaluation of Intermediate examination properly. The CPI members taking out a protest rally from the CPI office to Telangana Junction burnt an effigy of TRS government on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahbubnagar CPI district secretary Paramesh Goud said that it was because of the mismanagement and failure of the Education Minister to give strict instructions to the authorities concerned in the Intermediate Board, there has been numerous errors that cropped up in the evaluation of Intermediate examination papers and there has been a big goof-up in the intermediate results.

"The government has totally failed in managing the Board of Intermediate Education in the State. As many as 12 lakh students took intermediate examinations in the State and out them nearly about 26,000 students have reported to have got their marks sheets wrong and have applied for re-evaluation. As it is a clear failure of the concern authorities and the concern agencies that have been entrusted with the responsibility to evaluate the Intermediate exam papers, the CPI party demands suspension of all the concerned officials and debar the Globarina Agency. We also demand the resignation of Education Minister from his post," said the CPI district secretary.

Adding further, the CPI leaders said that because of wrong mark memos and errors in intermediate results, as many as 16 intermediate students have committed suicide unable to bear the humiliation of getting failed in the intermediate examinations. The government should take responsibility for the deaths of all these intermediate students and provide ex gratia of Rs 20 lakh to the kin of the deceased families. "Earlier also, the Telangana government had failed to conduct the Eamcet examinations properly and the issue of paper leakage went viral. At that time, they had not initiated any action against the officials and authorities. Had they taken strict action then, today this situation would not have cropped up," observed the CPI leaders.

They also demanded that the government should not charge any fee for revaluation of marks memos or answer papers from the students and re-verify and re-evaluate the answer sheets free of cost.
