CPI leaders take to streets demanding 2BHKs, RB scheme benefits to tenant farmers in Khammam
Khammam: The Communist Party of India (CPI) leaders and supporters took out a huge protest rally and staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate on Monday demanding allotment of double bedroom houses to all poor people besides extending Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima scheme benefits to tenant farmers and tribal farmers practising podu land cultivation in the State.
Speaking on the occasion, party district secretary B Hemanth Rao said, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was duping people with his honey-coated words. He had not implemented a single promise which he made to people during elections, he alleged, adding that TRS government has no interest in solving the people issues.
He alleged that while double bedroom houses were not allotted to people in mandals, he said in some areas the construction of houses was at the starting stage. "Our party is focusing on people issues and will stage more such protest programmes in the days to come in the State," he said.
Party leaders D Suresh, Moulana, Kalavathi, Jithendra Reddy, S Narasimha Rao, SK Janimiya, Mahamood Salam, T Venkateswarlu, Sithamahalaxmi, Y Latha Devi and others took part in the protest. Later, the agitators submitted a memorandum to the Collector for solving the issues.
