CPI (M) activists and leaders burning an effigy of Central government protesting against the revocation of Article 370 in Khammam town on Monday

Khammam: The activists and leaders of Communist Party of India Marxists (CPI(M)) burnt an effigy of the Central government at the Khammam main road on Monday protesting against the revoking of Article 370. Before the programme, they stage a protested rally from the party office to Nagarjuna Sagar Project (NSP) camp office amid slogans against the Central government.

Speaking on the occasion, party district secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao said, "Today marks the darkest day in the history of Indian democracy."

The unilateral decision of the Centre to scrap Article 370 is illegal and unconstitutional, and it will make India an occupational force in Jammu and Kashmir, he added.

Party leaders Y Srinivas, Afroj Sameena, MA Jabbar, B Ramesh, T Vishnu, Bashiruddin, M Upender, SK Meera, S Naveen Reddy, J Ashok, P Mohan Rao, Bagam Gayatri, Praveen and B Srinivas took part in the rally.
