CPM accuses government of putting podu land issue on backburner
Khammam: District secretary of CPM Nunna Nageswara Rao criticised the State government for putting the podu land issue on a backburner. Addressing the media on Monday, the CPM leader stated that government did not take any responsibility with regard to Sirpur Kagaznagar incident.
Stating that people in the agency were troubled with police and forest officials, Nunna alleged that the government was neglecting podu lands issue in the State. "The Chief Minister during his election campaigning in the district had promised to solve the podu land issue after coming to power. However, he has remained silent over the issue ever since he came to power for the second time," Nunna alleged.
Stating that his party was not against planting saplings, he reiterated that planting saplings in podu lands was not correct. He appealed to the government to solve the podu land issue and extend the benefits of Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima schemes to podu farmers immediately.
Party leaders B Veerabhadram, T Krishna and others attended the programme.
