CPM cadre urged to launch crusade against Centre's anti-poor policies: B V Raghavulu

Khammam: CPI-M politburo member B V Raghavulu here on Tuesday accused the Union government of trying to deprive Adivasis of their rights on forest land. The government had given pattas to 86, 000 podu farmers though 2 lakh farmers applied for pattas. The State and Central governments were trying to take away tribal lands on the pretext of survey, he alleged.

Raghavulu was addressing the party's extended executive meeting of Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal Urban, Warangal Rural and Jayashanker Bhupalpally district units here.

Incidents of Communalism and incidents of mob lynching of religious minorities and suppressed classes have been on the rise after the BJP came to power. The recent brutal attack on tribal people at Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh in which 10 tribals were killed showed that the government was determined to deprive the weaker sections of their right on land.

Raghavulu urged the party workers to organise crusade against social, economic, cultural and gender discrimination. Party State Secretary T Veerabhadram and others spoke.
