CPM demands CM to meet RTC staff in Warangal
Warangal: CPI (M) district unit on Wednesday staged a dharna at Hanamkonda bus stand and extended solidarity to the TSRTC workers, who had boycotted their duties as the State government didn't accepted their demands.
The police took all the left party workers and leaders including party district executive member G Prabhakar Reddy into preventive custody and shifted them to nearby police stations.
Reddy said the RTC workers launched a struggle after the government failed to resolve their long pending demands including waiver of hefty tax imposed on diesel purchased by the RTC to run the vehicles.
The party leaders demanded Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to call for a dialogue with the RTC unions and address their issue without any delay.
