CPM demands govt to suspend lease of RTC land in Hanamkonda

Hanamkonda: The leaders of the CPM on Saturday demanded the government to suspend the lease agreement of RTC local bus depot lands that is given to some private parties and staged dharna in front of the bus depot here in Hanamkonda.

Speaking on the occasion, CPM district secretary T Uppalaiah alleged that the state government is trying to privatise the RTC land. As part of its plan it has given the RTC lands for lease to private parties and some TRS leaders.

Sensing this, the RTC employees serve a strike notice demanding the government to merge the RTC into the government and went for strike, and have been continuing it from the past 22 days.

Uppalaiah alleged that the government joining hands with private bus owners is trying to hand over the RTC lands to its MLAs and MPs that is why, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is threatening the RTC employees about privatisation of RTC.

Few days back, four acres of valuable RTC land at Hunter Road in Hanamkonda was given on lease to an MP of the ruling party. Now the government has given two acres of RTC local bus depot lands situated in the heart of the city on lease to one private party which costs Rs 5 crores, he pointed.

The CPM will never let the TRS government either for privatising the RTC or giving the RTC lands along with lands of other government organisations for lease and will fight against it until the government suspends all the lease agreements that are given to private parties, he warned.

He appealed to the leaders of all employees unions, workers unions and all sections of people to join with CPM to fight against anti-peoples policies that are adopted by CM KCR and for protection of RTC lands extending their support to RTC employees strike.

The CPM leaders Dharavath Bhima Naik, V Veeranna, L Deepa, Venkataramana, B Narasimha, D Sudharshan, Lingmurthy and K Babu join the dharna.
