Create awareness on disadvantages of over-population in Sircilla

Sircilla: The officials and staff of Medical and Health department must create awareness among the people about the disadvantages of over population, suggested District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar. He attended as a chief guest at a programme organised on World Population Day by Medical and Health Department at Government Main Hospital in Sircilla town on Thursday.

Speaking at the meeting, Collector D Krishna Bhaskar said that Kerala and Tamil Nadu are the first in the country among other states in decreasing the growth rate of population. In united Andhra Pradesh, three decades ago officials concentrated more on decreasing the growth rate of population. They created awareness among the people with a slogan that 'One is lovely, two is ok and three is burden'.

For preparing an action plan for the development activities to take up across the nation and for designing various welfare schemes is depended on the population growth rate in that country. A family with two children can nourish their children well and can provide good education and health.

The officials must take this message widely into the society among the people, suggested the Collector.Later, the Collector inaugurated a rally from Government Main Hospital to Gandhi Chowk in Sircilla town.

Before attending for the meeting, the Collector inaugurated 'Internal Injection' programme on the hospital premises introduced as part of family planning programme, which will be helpful in preventing the pregnancy for three months.

District Medical and Health Officer Dr Chandrashekar, B Sc Nursing College Principal Vidhyulatha, Internal Injection district coordinator Dr Rajani, health officials Dr Anil, Dr Santosh and Asha workers were present.
