CSOs told to adhere to rules of child policies in Hanamkonda
Hanamkonda: There is an imperative need for all the non-government organisations (NGOs) to uphold the child protection policies, Warangal Urban district welfare officer R Varalaxmi said. She was speaking at the refreshers workshop on 'Advocacy, Lobby and Institutional Policies jointly organised by the Girls Advocacy Alliance (GAA), and FMM Social Service Society for child rights civil societies organisation (CSOs) here on Tuesday.
"The CSOs need to ensure the rights of children in accordance with the Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005, and National Policy for Children, 2013 Act," she said. Those CSOs infringing the guidelines of government policies would come under the scanner of law, Varalaxmi said.
Warangal district Child Welfare Committee (CWC) chairperson Mandala Parashuramulu said that all institutions working with the child protection needs to comply with the existing laws laid down by the government. CWC members Vanam Balaraju, Konda Manjula, DCPO (Urban) P Santhosh Kumar, DCPO (Rural) G Mahender Reddy and GAA project officer Erra Srikanth were among others who spoke.
