Customs officials seize gold worth Rs 39 lakh at Hyderabad airport

The customs officials on Sunday seized 931 grams of gold worth Rs 39.1 lakh from a passenger. Prem Chand Gupta who arrived from Dubai concealed the gold in a mixer grinder.
Acting on a tip-off, the officials intervened Prem Chand and inquired him. During a check, the police found the gold biscuits concealed in the mixer grinder. The police registered a case and arrested him.
On February 21, 2020 - a passenger arrived from Doha was taken into custody after the sleuths of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence found 366.63 gram of gold that valued at Rs 15.56 lakh with him.
